When an entrepreneurial initiative called Wyrd approached us to help design and build their online learning platform using NationBuilder we jumped at the chance. Wyrd’s approach is to use an innovative technique called flip-teaching, whereby the young people themselves create the learning material via a smartphone App.
We’ve all been there. The school careers advisor that tell us our future lies not in computer games or film direction but in something far more mundane.
Those endlessly reductive Yes/No surveys that take in aptitudes and spit out standardised career options. Good at English do this. Good at Maths do that. Talk about uninspiring.
So when a fresh entrepreneurial initiative called Wyrd approached us to help design and build their online learning platform using NationBuilder we jumped at the chance.
Unlike traditional approaches Wyrd aims to inspire and empower young people to prepare for the world of work by improving their ‘employability’.
We designed a ‘logged in’ area within the Wyrd NationBuilder website where registered users can review and share their own entires.
Wyrd’s approach is to use an innovative technique called flip-teaching, whereby the young people themselves create the learning material via a smartphone App.
The participants then use their social media communities to both share and rate the video content. We love this process - it’s fun, creative, and early indications show, it really works. It’s been a joy collaborating with the fantastic team at Wyrd.
